I took Daniel swimming this morning again. Originally i want to take him for baby swimming lessons which starts at 10am. But Daniel failed to fall asleep in the pushchair in our usual morning walk in the park. So I decided to change plan for only leisure swimming in the toddler pool as i knew Daniel would be unsettle during the lesson. We arrived leisure center at 10am, Daniel was a lot better in the changing room this time than last week. It's not much hassle for me to get both of us changed and heading for pool. As predicted, Daniel was fretful in the pool to start with, after a while he started to enjoy a bit. I took him to slightly deep bit of pool letting him holding the edge of the pool just like when we adults start to learn swimming. He did this exercises for 5 minutes. Then along came the 'giant' wave, apparently the leisure pool was simulating beach waves every 30 minutes, i quickly moved Daniel to the 'beach', but we were still hit by the big wave and out of fear Daniel cried in tears, other babes were doing the same, it looked only toddlers enjoy it.
After swimming, Daniel dozed off straight away even before we backed to the car and he had really good nap after lunch. Swimming is really good exercise for babes, I think. I plan to make it as our Thursday routine in the future and we will go swimming this weekend with Terry as well.

Daniel looks cuter and cuter, more and more handsome.
His chubby face does remind me of Isabel. I think they two look alike, the eyes, the smile... Don't you think?
Swimming is very good. Unfortunately I haven't taken my kids swimming often because I'm not interested in it. Next summer, maybe. :)
Yes, I think the same, they two did look alike. I was going to say that when I saw Isabel's photo showing her new tooth. They both had chubby face, yes, the eyes and smile, very much alike...
I love swimming(i taught myself when i was in Portsmouth studying), I hope Daniel get into it as well. Baby swimming lessons are very popular here, some class even got waiting list. The concept of baby swiming was imported from Australia actually, it is said it is more popular down there. Why baby swimming,a) to take advantage of baby's diving reflex which she/he equipped when in mum's womb; b) lots of drowning accidents for toddlers each year. Swimming is a skill to prevent this sort of tragety...
Being able to swim is definitely a life saving skill. I knew I should learn. I guess the problem is I'm short-sighted and if I can't wear contact lens in the pool, I don't feel comfortable because I can't see! How do you cope with that?
Baby swimming lesson here is not only popular, it's a MUST. Even the winter weather like now, the toddlers pool is busy all the time. I didn't want Isaac to do the proper lesson too early though. I'm planning to send him to do it the coming summer when he can communicate and take instructions better.
I'm short-sighted too!But glasses wouldn't stop me doing sports. I just go without when swimming. It's very blurry to me as well without glasses but it's ok for doing lane swimming. My swimming buddy Alison is short-sighted as well, she wears glasses when swimming without any trouble.
Couple of years ago, when i start to do sailing, I bought boxes of contact lens, but I was so struggling to put them in and eventually I gave up and just went on sailing with my glasses with string attached...
