Daniel was ill yesterday. Monday night was pretty awful. He woke up every hour crying hysterically, which is not his normal behaviour. I thought it was due to his teething pain. Whenever he got the chance he was holding my hand not letting it go... and he hold it so hard that I virtually felt his nails denting into my skin. Also I noticed he was very sweaty, when I tried to fed him a bit water I didn't hope he would drink much as he doesn't normally drink water. To my surprise he drunk nearly half beaker of water at one go. I took his sleeping bag off trying to help him sleep a bit better, but he still woke up 5.30am, Terry came in trying to settle him back to sleep early morning but didn't succeed either.
When Daniel got up he looked very grumpy and tired, he got rash spread all over his face and his body. I noticed he got a bit rash on his forehead the day before yesterday but wasn't alarmed, as he was still feeding well and was generally happy. I didn't expect the rash could got this worse so quickly, so I phoned the GP and described the symptoms and they told me to take him straight through. At doctor's consulting room, Daniel cried so hysterically (as usual) that the doctor could hardly examine him. He shut his mouth so tight when doctor tried to look his throat that the nice lady virtually had to force that piece of stick into his mouth... when I told my Mum over the phone this morning about what Daniel looked like at doctor, my mum laughed saying that Daniel behaved exactly like me when I was that age. after the doctor's thoroughly check-up, the diagnosis was Virus Infection, no need to panic (to my relieve it was not meningitis), just give him infant paracetamol and keep him hydrated. So I followed the doctor's advice after we came back from the surgery giving him paracetamol and plenty of water. He had a good night sleep last night. This morning his rash started fading away. He perked up again, when I put him in a shopping trolley pushing along the aisle in Asda this morning, He was cooing and 'talking' to people again... my tough little boy!

Luckily it's nothing serious. But you must have been very worried seeing the rash, and very tired trying to make him feel better that night. It's not easy to be a mom and it's definitely the worst seeing our children suffer.
But the sickness helps babies build up their immune system and make them tougher and stronger.
Yes, definitely! The sickness helps them to build up a stronger immune system.
Daniel was fully recovered by Thursday. So Thursday morning I took him for his swimming lessons as ususal, I was struggling with the idea in the morning worrying the swimming will make him pick up something straight away. In the end we still went. It turned out that Daniel was well enough for the swimming and he didn't pick up any more gems afterwards.
Good to know that Daniel is okay now.
I just uploaded a video of Isabel walking on my blog. Go and check it out! It's soooo easy to do it. I think I will do it more often in the future. Video speaks more than the photos. :) You should try as well.
